XMB IN-GAMELusoplay has returned with safe information about this year's Games Developers Conference. Sony will show the much awaited in-game XMB feature aswell as the LittleBigPlanet-Home interaction.
Furthermore, a big announcement of Home, the public Beta is here. Details to follow at this year's GDC.
GT5 NEW WHEELLogitech has finalled revealed the official wheel for Gran Turismo 5. Today at the Game Developer's Conference, Logitech gave fans a first look at their newly titled, Logitech Driving Force GT. Release dates have also already been announced for the product as March 28 was given for Europe, while North America has a April 17 release.
STREET FIGHTER IVEver since the first teaser trailer was shown for Street Fighter IV, we've been eager to see the game in action. Sure, getting a sneak peek at the redesigned art style of the franchise was one thing, but we couldn't wait to fling a couple of fireballs, sonic booms and launch dragon punches into the faces of unsuspecting opponents. Luckily, we managed to get some hands on with the arcade version of the game at this year's GDC. Two arcade cabinets, fresh from the AOU Amusement Expo, were set up in Capcom's suite, and we had an opportunity to pummel our way through many of the World Warriors.
PSP STOREThe PSP has grown up quite nicely in its four years of existence, going from an all-in-one, not too good at anything experiment to a highly technical, yet extremely entertaining, handheld product. Sony has realized that their "baby is all grown up" and is looking to give the handheld system its own version of the PlayStation Store to add to the already robust feature set the system is capable of handling.
Today at GDC, Chris Eden from Sony Computer Entertainment made mention of the PLAYSTATION Store on PSP in his Game Developer's Conference session. Currently the only way PSP owners can access downloadable content for their handhelds is via the PS3's PlayStation store or the PC's Store. Eden's announcement now gives hope that PSP owners will be able to have downloadable content available at their fingertips without having to plug their PSP into anything, but rather just by logging onto the internet.
CALL OF DUTY PATCHFor all the PlayStation 3 Call of Duty 4 players out there, listen up. Today we spoke with Infinity Ward's Community Relations Manager Robert Bowling and acquired new information about the upcoming "Features Patch" soon to be released.
Here is a detailed list of some of the improvements Infinity Ward will be including in the new patch:
- Optimized servers
- New Kill cams (grenades, RPG's, airstrikes, claymores, and more)
- Quick Mute (allows user to mute annoying players by pressing X on their gamertag in the lobby)
- Addition of "Recently Met Players" for the PlayStation Network
- Improvements to the Sniper Rifles and Acog attachments (no more delayed shots)
"(With the new kill cams) you can watch from when the grenade leaves the enemies hand all the way to the explosion that kills you," said Bowling.
HOME*Update (30mins into presentation)
For a quick update, one key feature that the new PlayStation Home tools will allow for is the ability for developers to create custom clothing, furniture, and avatar heads for Home users. An example could be having an unlockable Sweet Tooth head from Twisted Metal for your Home character. Although, any heads created by developers will be static and will not be customizable by users. Other features shown include scene tools for creating private and public spaces and how to create a menu system for Home users to jump from Home into multiplayer games.
Update #2
Developers will be allowed to create Home Interactive Items. The first item shown was something called a "Bubble Machine" which users can pull out using their in-game PSP menu and drop on the ground. Other items talked about included a virtual camera, tv remotes, and footballs. Developers can produce items to both sell or giveaway. Also items in the game can be interactive (such as the football which uses Home physics) and be picked up and dropped. Items can have animations, collision, and audio. (Developer shows images, inlcuding a scene with 20-30 Home users dancing with Bubble machines all around)
